March Madness or the Big Dance is the NCAA's Men's Division I Basketball Tournament held each year from mid-March until early April. It has become one of the most watched sports events in the United States and has been at least partially televised since 1968.  This year's March Madness will be broadcast on CBS, ESPN, TBS, TNT and truTV.<\/p>\n

But have you ever wondered how the teams make it in to the tournament?  Currentl there are 68 college basketball teams that make the tournament.  36 are determined based upon division championship and 36 are selected at-large by a Selection committee and televised on the Sunday prior to the start of the tournament known as Selection Sunday!  The selection committee also seeds the entire 68 teams from 1 through 68. <\/p>\n

The lowest seed to make it in to the Final Four was # 16 and the lowest seeded team to win the entire tournament was seeded 15.<\/p>\n

Only eight teams competed in the first NCAA tournament.
\nUCLA has by far the most titles (11).
\nA No. 16 seed has never beaten a No. 1 seed.
\nA No. 11 is the lowest seed ever to make the Final Four.
