Stay Close to Home this Labor Day

  |     |   Holidays, Things To Do

Whether you own a home or are renting an apartment in Encino it is a great place to live and a three day weekend seems like a good idea to get caught up on chores, reading or sleeping. You can stay home and take advantage of the amenities in your apartment complex or relax in your yard or you can wander out and explore Encino.

Here are a few ideas if you are staying close to home.

  • Head down to the fitness center and get a little exercise in, then grab a book (or e-book) and head down to the pool. Plan a BBQ for yourself, friends or neighbors.
  • Clean out a closet this Labor Day. Go through your closets and toss away anything you haven’t worn this summer and do an inventory of your warm weather clothes.  Pack them up in a bag and drop them off at either 14760 or 17660 Ventura Blvd.
  • Visit the Farmer’s Market in Encino. Late summer is the best time to buy fresh California produce and the Encino Farmers Market located at 17400 Victory Blvd (Van Nuys) has free parking, fresh flowers, eggs, chicken, veggies, fruit and melons.
  • Westridge-Canyon back Wilderness Park this park has trailes for hikers, mountain bikers, horse and dog lovers. They are accessible from the fire road and on a clear day you can see the ocean.
  • Go antiquing; Hoot and the Antik Shop are both located in Encino. If you are looking for some furniture for your apartment or home.

We hope these tips will help you have a relaxing Labor Day Weekend.
